Ice Spiker by Joico: An Inexpensive Hair Product that Works
Most people who care about fashion and style are constantly on the hunt for hair care
products that work and that don’t cost tons of money. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to settle for a
sub-par product simply because the dream product would be a drain on my funds. That’s the depressing thing about
fashion; the fashion industry tells us that we should look and dress a certain way, but so often it seems like only
the rich jetsetters of the world have access to the clothing and products that allow us to look that way.
Which is why it’s so refreshing to find a hair product that actually gives me the
look I want without forcing me to pay the price of a luxury spa vacation. The U.S.-based Joico company provides
many products that I can’t recommend strongly enough. Not only do they provide top-notch styling that is
indistinguishable from what expensive products can do, but many of the products only cost a few bucks—at least,
much less than some of the other brands.
For example, a 16 ounce tub of I.C.E. Spiker by Joico only costs 25 dollars. Think of
how much is in a 16 ounce container, and now imagine how much certain other products would cost in that size. It’s
almost scary to think about. And as someone who believes in not overdoing things when it comes to beauty and
styling products, I’m fairly confident I could make this 16 ounce tub last for a year or so, no exaggeration. 25
dollars for a full year of good looking hair? Yeah, I can live with that.
It’s called Spiker, but don’t get the wrong impression. I’ve used it to style my hair
in all sorts of ways, and I don’t usually go for the spiky look that’s hip in some circles these days. Mostly, I
use it to style my hair before work, and I usually go with a pretty straight-laced style for my job. But whatever
style I use, I always know that with I.C.E. Spiker, my straight-laced, semi-formal hairstyle will stay in place all
day, no matter what I do. I could ride the subway, go for a jog, do jumping jacks, and clean my whole apartment,
and in the end my hair would still be in place. In fact, there have been times when I wanted to restyle my hair,
and Spiker was just a little bit too stubborn. That’s my biggest complaint, though, and it’s pretty minor.
When you get down to it, the best thing about Spiker is that it’s not too greasy.
Rather than turning your hair into a wet-looking, oily mop that you almost don’t even want to touch, Spiker holds
your hair in place while barely changing the texture. I’ve used it in hair that was just shampooed, and it created
a perfect balance between the just-washed look and greasiness. I’m not exactly sure how Joico makes these things,
but it’s clear they have some very smart people designing their products.
